Juneteenth 2025: Reflections and Reverence Ceremony

Location: Urbana City Hall
Details: Presentations and workshops to educate the public and celebrate Juneteenth, including “Soulful Streets: A Juneteenth Food Truck Festival” highlighting some local African American-owned food vendors.

Comedy Fundraiser for Street Dog Coalition
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Golden Fox Brewing, Decatur

B. Space Girl Opens

Location: Second Stage Theatre, Parkland College, Champaign
Details: Twin City Theatre Company’s 2025 Stars of Tomorrow Student Production. “Space Girl” is about a 16-year-old alien who is sent to Earth with her father to determine if Earth is worth saving. Explores themes of identity, belonging, and navigating a new world. Runs through June 22, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m., Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

Third Annual Five Cities Baroque Festival

Location: Across Champaign, Decatur, and Springfield

Danville Municipal Band Concert

Location: Danville’s Lincoln Park

Understanding Juneteenth: History, Liberation, and Legacy

Location: Urbana Park District’s Health & Wellness Center
Details: Interactive workshops and activities, and a panel discussion titled “This Legacy: Effective Communicators Required” to address how we communicate with each other today about Juneteenth-related topics.

Location: Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Urbana
Details: Juneteenth Celebration Concert at Stage 5. Free entry.
