SPEAK Cafe

     Location: Krannert Art Museum, Champaign
     Details: “Song, Poetry, Art, and Knowledge” is an open-mic public performance space curated by local artist Shaya Robinson to share your art through the mic.

Skeleton Crew
     Time: 7:30 p.m.
     Location: Station Theatre, Urbana
     Details: The story of four African-American characters working at a Detroit autoplant at risk of shutting down during the Great Recession. Runs through February 16th, with Thursday-Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.

CU Folk and Roots Winter Weekend
     Time: 5:00 p.m.
     Location: Rose Bowl Tavern, Urbana
     Details: Featuring Jordan Kaye’s Django Wrangle, Ernie Dean Hendrickson, and Keith Hall & the Creeping Grass. No cover. More music on Saturday starting at 12:00 p.m.

The Silhouettes
     Time: 7:30 p.m.
     Location: Millikin’s Kirkland Fine Arts Center, Decatur
     Details: Shadow dance company, who performed on America’s Got Talent, will present “LOVE HAPPENS” using light, color, video, photographs, dance, acting, and mime.

Dote on the Does
     Time: 11:00 a.m.
     Location: Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery, Champaign
     Details: Staff will guide you through caring for pregnant goats. Tickets include a guided doe pampering session, hot chocolate, a small cheese plate, and expert insights from dairy staff. Also available on February 9th at 12:00 p.m. More details at Prairiefruits.com.

Display Black Art: Local Black Artists

     Location: The African American Cultural & Genealogical Museum, Decatur
     Details: Celebration of Black History Month featuring art by local Black artists.
