IDPH has also compiled a list of testing sites across the state, including information on testing eligibility and contact information. Public testing sites offer free testing regardless of insurance, with no need for a doctor’s referral.
Illinois has expanded COVID-19 testing criteria to allow anyone to get tested, regardless of symptoms.
C-U LOCATIONS
Marketplace Mall, Champaign
- Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
- State-supported community-based testing site.

Promise Healthcare, Champaign

OSF Urgo South, Champaign
- Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
- Patients must be screened through Pandemic Health or PCP in advance. Call 1-833-OSF-KNOW to schedule an appointment.
- Language line is offered.
Carle Health, Champaign
- Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
- Individuals must call COVID hotline, 217-902-6100, for approval.
- Essential workers as well as Carle staff and patients can get tested with public health approval.
- English, Spanish, French and Mandarin are offered at this site.
Christie Clinic Approved Testing Facility, Champaign
- Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Individuals should call their providers and get approval from phone screening.
- Interpreters are available as needed.
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS LOCATIONS
For the most up-to-date information, visit the U of I’s COVID-19 testing site.
- Uses a saliva-based test as opposed to a nasal swab.
- Individuals should refrain from eating, drinking, brushing teeth, chewing tobacco, mouth washing or gum chewing one hour prior to the test.
- The test is free and is available to all community members ages eight and up. For testing locations and hours, visit the SHIELD CU website.

CVS, Savoy
- Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
- Only those who have COVID-19 related symptoms, have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or have been recommended to get tested from a doctor are allowed to get tested. You can check if you qualify at this link.

- Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

- Open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday through Friday.
- Appointment required; approved patients must meet IDPH’s criteria. Limited capacity.
