Gov. J.B. Pritzker has ordered the state’s residents to remain in their homes except for essential needs, March 21 at 5:00 p.m.-May 31. Starting May 1, there will be major modifications to the plan, click here to read about them.
All schools — Gov. JB Pritkzer’s order closing all schools in the state has been extended until the end of the semester.
All bars and restaurants ordered closed to dine-in patrons until April 30. Food deliveries and drive through service allowed.
All drivers services facilities closed. According to Secretary of State Jesse White, all expiration dates for driver’s licenses, ID cards, vehicle registrations will be extended at least 90 days after Driver Services facilities reopen. The previous extension was for 30 days.
All vehicle emissions testing stations have been closed by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency through April 30.
Illinois Department of Human Services – temporarily closing Family Community Resource Centers (FCRCs) to the public.
Illinois State Parks allowed to re-open May 1 include:
- Northwest Illinois: Argyle Lake State Park, Jubilee College State Park, Lowden State Park, Morrison-Rockwood State Park, Rock Island Trail, Shabbona Lake State Recreation Area.
- Northeastern Illinois: Chain O’ Lakes State Park, Illinois and Michigan Canal State Trail, Kankakee River State Park, Moraine Hills State Park, North Point Marina.
- East Central Illinois: Clinton Lake State Recreation Area, Eagle Creek State Park, Kickapoo State Recreation Area, Wolf Creek State Park.
- West Central Illinois: Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area, Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area, Sangchris Lake State Park, Siloam Springs State Park, Washington County State Recreation Area.
- Southern Illinois: Fort Massac State Park, Giant City State Park, Stephen A. Forbes State Recreation Area, Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area.
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY
Champaign County Freedom Celebration – Champaign-Urbana’s annual Fourth of July festival will not be held in 2020 – website posting
Champaign County Brookens Center & County Courthouse – closed to the public until April 30; staff are available through phone, email and the county website.
Champaign Parks – all district playgrounds are closed to public use until further notice. The dog park on West Windsor is closed. District parks remain open for walking, hiking, running and biking as long as park users comply with social distancing requirements.
Champaign Public Library & Douglass Branch Library – closed until further notice.
Champaign Police Department, Champaign Fire Stations, the City Building, and the Public Works Department – limited public access
Champaign – Virginia Theatre – all public events suspended through May 15
Cunningham Township Assessor’s office – closed to the public. You may contact the office at assessor@ctao.us instead of coming to the office
Developmental Services Center day programs – closed until further notice
Krannert Art Museum – closed to the public
Krannert Center – all public performances at Krannert Center canceled through July 10.
Savoy – Savoy Rec Center closed until further notice; public access to Savoy Fire Department not allowed
Mahomet Public Library – closed for indefinite period, book loan periods extended, online services continue.
Tolono – Tolono Public Library (also serving Savoy, Sadorus) closed for indefinite period.

Urbana – Urbana Business Association has canceled the Market In the Square scheduled for April 4 8:00 a.m.-noon at Lincoln Square Mall
Urbana – Urbana Business Association is postponing the Uncork Wine Festival that was to be hosted Saturday, June 6 at Meadowbrook Park.

Danville – All city buildings closed to the public
Danville – Danville Mass Transit’s shuttle between Danville and Champaign will not be running. Inside facilities of the Richard Brazda Bus Terminal building – closed
Danville Public Library – closed until further notice. Library digital resources remain available online.
Danville – Vermilion County offices are open but public is only asked to enter for essential business only
Danville – Village Mall – open, but Play Area closed, Easter Bunny and associated events canceled.
Danville – Public Works Solid Waste division has begun collection of yard waste as scheduled. It will continue through the month of April. Beginning, May 4, the container only period will begin.
