From IPM Meteorologist Andrew Pritchard: Scattered thunderstorms are expected across east-central Illinois today, and a few storms could become severe early this afternoon. Damaging winds are the primary concern with any severe storms locally, but large hail and a tornado or two are also possible. The primary time of concern is between Noon and 6 PM across Champaign County and all of the WILL severe weather coverage area. The severe weather risk will fade quickly this evening, but attention is already growing around another potentially severe weather across the Midwest on Wednesday.
