Police continue search for man who allegedly shot two officers in Gibson City while naked

David D. Jordan, 70, of Gibson City is wanted in connection with the shooting of two police officers early Saturday.

 

GIBSON CITY — Illinois State Police are searching for the suspect in a shooting that left two officers in Gibson City injured.

Officers from the Gibson City Police Department and Ford County Sheriff’s Department received reports of a naked man walking outside in the 100 block of Ash Street in Gibson City on Saturday at 2:31 a.m. He was identified as David Jordan, 70.

Police said shots were fired as officers attempted to make contact with Jordan at his home. A GCPD officer and an FCSD deputy were both shot.

The two officers were transported to local hospitals and treated for non life-threatening injuries. Shortly after the shooting, the house caught fire, according to police.

Jordan was last seen naked and then disappeared. Police said he “should be considered armed and dangerous.” Anyone with information is requested to contact police or submit a tip to the Illinois State Police.
