Illinois Department of Transportation winter road conditions for I-57, I-72, I-74, US 36 and US 136

SNOW CLEARING PRIORITIES

Champaign

Anti-icing chemicals will be applied to bridges and selected streets prior to freezing, icing, or other winter weather conditions. Snow and ice removal on primary routes will be completed within 12 hours of cessation of the storm. Secondary routes will be cleared within 24 hours after primary routes have been completed.

Urbana

Crews will clear the following primary arterial streets: Florida and Vine; Philo and Windsor; Bradley and Lincoln; Green and Pennsylvania; Washington and Main; Springfield and Kinch; Race and Broadway; Mumford and Colorado; and Lierman.

University of Illinois U of I Facilities and Services says primary campus streets and driveways are the top priority for university large snowplows. Sidewalks and building entrances are priorities for Grounds and Building Services departments. Click here for more information.
Decatur City trucks will focus on keeping priority streets clear and open. As soon as it is practical, trucks will be sent to neighborhood roads. Click here for more information.
