Where To Find Locations To Get Tested For COVID-19

Illinois has expanded COVID-19 testing criteria to allow anyone to get tested, regardless of symptoms.

Illinois Department of Public Health

IDPH’s database features testing locations in Champaign, Urbana, Savoy, Danville, Decatur, Mattoon, Hoopeston and Pontiac, including, but not limited to, OSF, Christie, Carle and CVS locations. Not all of the testing sites listed in their database is managed by the IDPH. To learn more about that specific testing location, a phone number and/or email is provided for contact. Database also showcases testing sites of other regions around Illinois.

Walgreens

Walgreens has 20 testing locations in Central Illinois. With a zip code, their search page will tell you the nearest location. Walgreens offers three different tests, each with different result times. The tests are covered by most insurance.

University of Illinois

Uses a saliva-based test as opposed to a nasal swab. Individuals should refrain from eating, drinking, brushing teeth, chewing tobacco, mouth washing or gum-chewing one hour prior to the test. The test is free, but is only available to University of Illinois employees and students, as well as their families and household members. An i-Card or Illini ID is necessary. The university hopes to expand testing to the Champaign-Urbana community in the near future.
