WATCH LIVE: 2024 State of the Union with NPR and PBS

March 5th, 2024; Washington D.C. – For President Biden’s upcoming State of the Union address, NPR News will offer special multimedia coverage including streaming video which will be available at NPR.org, participating NPR Member station radio broadcasts and websites, (www.npr.org/stations), the NPR app, NPR Facebook and the NPR YouTube Channel. Hosted by Morning Edition’s Steve Inskeep, coverage will begin at 9pm ET and will last until around 12am ET (subject to change)

“Across the NPR network, we are working hard to meet audiences where they are on big nights – in the broadcast, digital, and social spaces – both live and on demand,” said Eric Marrapodi, Vice President for News Programming. “This election season NPR is the place to come to better understand what gets said and why it matters.”

NPR’s special coverage will feature:

  • Broadcast: Participating NPR Member stations will have live broadcast (radio) coverage of the speech, as well as analysis from NPR hosts and guests..
  • Video streaming: Live video of the speech and our hosts in studio will be available at NPR.orgThe NPR AppFacebookYouTube, and participating NPR Member station websites and apps.
  • In-Studio Experts: For reaction to the speech, Inskeep will consult national political correspondent Mara Liasson, and White House correspondent Asma Khalid.
  • Live Reports from Inside the Capitol: NPR Congressional correspondent Claudia Grisales will file live reports on reactions to the State of the Union coming from within the House chamber.
  • Live Blog & Fact Checking: A team of NPR reporters and correspondents will provide real-time analysis and fact-checking at NPR.org
  • Post-Speech Podcast: Following the speech, NPR’s best political reporters will drop a new episode of the NPR Politics Podcast
  • Social Media: Follow NPR’s social accounts for more SOTU coverage. NPR’s Facebook page, YouTube Channel, and Threads.
  • Digital reads and voter reaction: NPR White House correspondent Tamara Keith will offer a digital and broadcast story after the speech about what’s at stake for the Biden administration as well as reactions from voters in North Carolina.
