Urbana’s Feb. 25 Democratic primary election included two contested city council seats and a mayoral primary between Annie Adams and DeShawn Williams.

URBANA — In Champaign County’s Feb. 25 primary election, Urbana’s Democratic primary races were the only items on the ballot.

Voters put the county’s Chief Deputy Treasurer DeShawn Williams on the path to becoming the city’s next mayor. City residents also reelected all incumbents currently serving on the City Council.

Full unofficial results from the Champaign County Clerk’s office are listed below. 

Urbana Mayoral Race

DeShawn Williams  65.8% (2,508 votes)

Annie Adams 34.2% (1,306 votes)

Urbana Ward 2

Chris Evans (incumbent) — 57.4% (263 votes)

Larry Lister — 42.6% (195 votes)

Urbana Ward 6

Grace Wilkin (incumbent) — 59.4% (437 votes)

Bill Colbrook — 40.6% (299 votes)
