Heat advisory in effect in Central Illinois as temperatures expected to hit over 100 degrees

Extreme heat is making yet another comeback in central Illinois. The National Weather Service has a heat advisory in effect across central Illinois that started at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning and runs through 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Heat index values are expected to be “near 110 degrees at times.”

 

The National Weather Service advises residents to keep hydrated, take frequent breaks in the shade and air conditioning, wear light clothing, and avoid outdoor activities from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
