CHAMPAIGN— Two people were wounded after two separate shooting incidents in Champaign over the weekend.
Champaign Police responded to the shooting of a 17-year-old boy on Sunday just before 2:00 a.m., according to a news release. The victim told officers he was walking along Moreland Boulevard when he was shot.
He is in stable condition after being treated for a life-threatening wound to the stomach.
In a separate incident, a 36-year-old man showed up to the emergency room at a local hospital around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday with a gunshot wound to the head.
The man initially reported that the injury resulted from a sports-related incident in the Garden Hills neighborhood, but medical personnel found that it was a gunshot wound.
The victim wouldn’t share any other details about the incident. Police are looking for the shooter and motive for both incidents.
