IPM meteorologist Andrew Pritchard advises central Illinoisans stay ‘weather aware’ on Sunday and Monday. Pritchard wrote that two main round of storms are expected across central Illinois today. The first round between 9:00 a.m.-noon may clip Champaign County.
Pritchard said the second round will be between 2:00-6:00 p.m. It will happen as a broken line of storms develops between the I-55 and I-57 corridors. Damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes will be possible.

IPM meteorologist Andrew Pritchard advises central Illinoisans stay ‘weather aware’ on Sunday and Monday.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln is forecasting that on Sunday, a strong cold front will move through the area with isolated thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe with isolated damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and small hail.
After the possible severe storms, forecasters windy conditions and rapidly falling temperatures behind the front will bring an abrupt return to winter.
