Rep. Miller Joins Effort to Ban Chinese Land Ownership in U.S

U.S. Rep. Mary Miller, R-Illinois

Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15) has introduced the House version of Senator Josh Hawley’s “Protecting Our Farms and Homes from China Act.” The bill would prohibit Chinese corporations and individuals linked to the Chinese Communist Party from purchasing U.S. farmland or residential property.

Miller called Chinese land acquisition “a direct attack on our sovereignty” and said the legislation is needed to protect America’s food supply and communities. The bill also requires current Chinese-owned agricultural and residential properties to be sold within a year and imposes fines and penalties for violations.
