CHAMPAIGN — Parkland College has given the all clear to reopen its satellite campus on Mattis Avenue after the facility went into lockdown Wednesday morning due to a reported shooting nearby.
The college said police responded to a reported shooting that occurred at Mattis Avenue and Parkland Way.
The college said there was “no active shooter on campus” in a social media post and that the main campus remained open.

Parkland said all scheduled classes at its Mattis facility this afternoon have been cancelled. The college said evening classes will be held as usual later today.
