WEATHER ALERT: Hurricane Beryl’s to bring heavy rainfall and potential flooding to Illinois

Heat Advisory Continues; Strong Storms Possible Too

URBANA – Meteorologists say dangerous heat and possibly strong thunderstorms will continue in Central Illinois on Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Heat Advisory until 8:00 p.m. It is the third advisory this week. 

Forecasters also say there could be strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening,  with the main threat area north of  Jacksonville to Danville in central IL.

Illinois Public Media meteorologist Andrew Pritchard says that while today’s high will be 89 degrees, combined with humidity, the heat index or what it will feel like outside is 100 to 105 degrees. He is forecasting that Friday and Saturday will be sunny as well with a high of 90 degrees.
