Bitter cold temperatures force local school districts to implement E-Learning day Tuesday

Many Central Illinois school districts have announced that classes will be held remotely on Tuesday due to frigid temperatures.

Here is the list:

  • All Champaign Unit 4 schools
  • All Urbana District 116 schools; All middle and high school extracurriculars, events, and practices are canceled.
  • All Decatur Public schools
  • Uni High School 
  • All Danville District 118 schools
  • Schlarman Academy 
  • Clinton Unit School District 15
  • Heritage School District 8, Extracurricular activities will go on as scheduled.
  • Hoopeston Area School District 11 
  • Georgetown-Ridge Farm District 8 schools
  • Salt Fork School District 
  • Gifford Grade School 
  • Milford Area Public schools
  • Ludlow grade schools 
  • Rantoul City grade schools
  • Thomasboro grade schools; The Thomasboro boys basketball game will go on as scheduled.
  • Illinois State Univeristy

A cold weather advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Monday until 3 p.m. Tuesday with temperatures dipping as low as eight degrees below 0, according to the National Weather Service.
