WEATHER ALERT: Severe storms expected late this afternoon and evening

‘All clear’ given after bomb threat called into Davenport Hall

URBANA – Police say there were no injuries or signs of explosives found after a bomb threat was called into Davenport Hall on the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign campus.

University police issued an ‘all-clear’ Illini-Alert system message around 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

Davenport Hall is located at 607 S. Mathews Avenue in Urbana. 

Police say the East Central Illinois Bomb Squad and K9 units responded after METCAD 9-1-1 received a call around 6:15 a.m. on Friday.

Dedicated in 1901, Davenport Hall houses the Departments of Agronomy, Animal Nutrition, and Dairy Production.
As of Friday afternoon, no one had been arrested in connection with the bomb threats.

Proposed Urbana City Council ward maps are available for review

The Urbana City Council is expected to review three proposed ward boundary maps at its June 3rd Committee of the Whole meeting. Meanwhile, the proposed maps are posted at the city’s website  for public review and comment. A link on the website’s front page takes users to information on ward redistricting. The map that wins council approval will replace Urbana’s current ward map.
