Illinois’ November midterm election is taking shape as results are coming in for statewide, congressional and local primaries.

The state is set for a rematch of the 2022 gubernatorial election. Incumbent members of the U.S. House of Representatives are vying for additional terms in Congress, and the state’s high-profile U.S. Senate race enters a new stage as Democratic and Republican voters have selected their nominees to succeed current Senator Dick Durbin.

Mail-in  votes are still being counted in Champaign County, which could shape the outcome of certain local races.

Elissa Eaton/IPM News Chyna Figueroa-Dixon and Ryan Musgrove are the two Democratic candidates running for the District 6 open seat on the Champaign County Board.

Chyna Figueroa-Dixon holds the lead in the Democratic primary to represent District 6, a neighborhood in the northern part of Champaign County. No Republicans are running for the seat, so if Figueroa-Dixon maintains the lead against her opponent, Ryan Musgrove, she would be poised to take office after the November election.
