A Farewell to Kennedy Vincent and a Deep Dive Into the ‘No Kings’ Movement

Matthew Hurtado, outreach coordinator of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America, speaks at the No Kings protest in Urbana, Ill., on Oct. 18.

Kennedy Vincent has been the inaugural host and producer of Dialogue and has recently departed Illinois Public Media. Whether she was reporting on blurs, black nerds, Afrofuturism, black maternal health, or carnival, Kennedy gave every show her all.

We also go into deep dive into the New Kings movement. The event happened in cities across Illinois, including Chicago, Springfield, Champaign-Urbana, Belleville, and Carbondale in October. Brian Mackey spoke with civil rights lawyer Gloria J. Browne-Marshall, whose new book is “A Protest History of the United States,” on the 21st Show.
