The National Weather Service in Lincoln issued a Winter Weather Advisory for central Illinois, including Champaign-Urbana, Danville and Decatur. Meteorologists are forecasting freezing rain and a light glaze on surfaces, including roads and sidewalks.
Illinois State University decided to close Wednesday due to weather concerns. In a news release, the university said all classes including in-person, hybrid, and online that are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. or after are canceled, and will not be held remotely.
