Champaign man arrested for making threats against local college

CHAMPAIGN – A Champaign man was arrested Tuesday after making violent threats against a local college campus.

Champaign Police arrived at 9:06 a.m. to Parkland College following a report of threats made on social media, according to a news release.

Police were made aware of a social media post that contained threats against the college by Parkland Public Safety, who requested additional assistance from neighboring law enforcement agencies.

Police worked quickly with authorities from the college and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to investigate the source of the threat. 

Malik Judeh, 19 of Champaign had made the threatening post, according to the police investigation. Judeh was arrested near his home at 11:02 a.m. and then transported to the Champaign County Correctional Center on initial charges of felony Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The investigation continues, police said.
