CHAMPAIGN – The mayor of Champaign has been elected to serve as President of the Illinois Municipal League for a one-year term.
Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen has served on the IML Board of Directors as a Vice President since 2020, and was elected president during the 111th IML Annual Conference held last weekend in Chicago, according to a news release from the City of Champaign.
“It is my honor to be elected by my fellow board members to serve as the Illinois Municipal
League’s President for the next year,” she said in a statement.
“I am passionate about making positive changes not only for Champaign, but for all the cities, villages, and towns across Illinois. Through my ongoing service with the Illinois Municipal League, I will continue to advocate for local governments that manage a myriad of complex issues so that together we can achieve our shared goal of having a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.”
