Urbana introduces Night Market at the Square

URBANA -The City of Urbana Arts & Culture program and Urbana’s Market at the Square are partnering up to launch a new event in downtown Urbana on Thursday nights during September and the first few weeks of October.

Night Market at the Square will be held at the Lincoln Square Mall parking lot at the northwestern corner of Vine and Illinois Streets (the usual farmers market location). The market will feature food trucks, art vendors, live painting, and performances by local and regional bands. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, grab dinner, shop, and soak in the live music.

Urbana’s Night Market runs from 6-9 p.m. on Thursdays from September 5 through October 10. Musical performances will start at 7 p.m. every week.

The music line-up includes:

  *   September 5: Samba Soul
  *   September 12: Panc8s
  *   September 19: Bourema Ouedraogo and Jason Finkelman
  *   September 26: Rory Book & the Volumes
  *   October 3: Forebeat
  *   October 10: The Slaps
