URBANA – More wintry weather is on the way to Central Illinois. Meteorologist Andrew Pritchard expects snow to begin tonight but it will not be a repeat of the last two storms. Pritchard expects Champaign-Urbana will receive only an inch of snow. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory to go into effect Thursday at noon for Champaign, Danville, Decatur and most of Central Illinois. It will last until Friday at 6:00 a.m. A snowstorm last week brought 4-5 inches of snow to Champaign-Urbana. A storm on February 1-3 left 13 inches of snow in Champaign, according to the National Weather Service.
Two rounds of wintry precipitation are expected tonight through Thursday night. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the entire area from Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. Plan now for travel impacts, especially during the Thursday evening commute. #ilwx pic.twitter.com/y0xyw2WYsZ
