Tuesday, June 7, 2022

Today’s headlines:

  • Today, it costs more on average to fill up your car in Illinois than it would in Hawaii.
  • This summer at select schools in Champaign-Urbana, anyone 18 or younger can get a free meal.
  • Dolostone is a rock that was used in the construction of the State Capitol building in Springfield, and now it’s the official state rock of Illinois.

In today’s deep dive, we’ll hear how three Republican candidates for the 13th Illinois Congressional District are modeling their campaign after former President Trump, while one is choosing a more bipartisan track.

217 Today is produced by Sydney Wood. Reporting today contributed by Alex Degman, Jim Meadows and Harrison Malkin.
