217 Today: Snow and ice still cover Illinois roads after major snowstorm

Friday, Feb. 4, 2022

Today’s headlines:

  • The Illinois State Police says that almost 2,000 motorists have called for assistance across Illinois since the snowstorm began early Wednesday morning.
  • When a Vermilion county woman tried to take her dog to the vet yesterday, the normally short trip took a lot longer on a snow-packed highway.
  • Governor J.B. Pritzker wants to put an extra $500 million dollars toward Illinois’ $130 billion in unfunded pension liabilities.

In today’s deep dive, we’ll check in once again with meteorologist Andrew Pritchard about the winter storm. He’ll tell us about snow totals and what we can expect through the weekend.
